FileMaker Pro 17 Advanced and FileMaker Server 17 are supported on macOS Mojave 10.14 with known issues and customers can upgrade now. These known issues are not critical, and will be addressed with upcoming updates for both products.

FileMaker Go 17.0.3 is compatible with iOS 12.

Just noticed that the column with operators is gone in the calculation screens.

This is a rather unfair rant. I've been listening to a number of podcasts, including the MacAdmins podcast. They have talked often about the number of very significant changes happening throughout the beta process with 10.14. We run into a very core rock/hard place with testing and building software.
1. Limited resources. Simple fact, FileMaker would need to devote countless hours to testing and refactoring code to work with some aspects of Mojave. Only to have that work thrown out the window when the next beta drops and have to start over. Since June, they have had at least 10 Betas drop ( as of the end of August ).
2. Being an Apple subsidiary. This doesn't give FileMaker any specific advantage. It doesn't. I talk to the FileMaker people at DevCon. They get zero advantage here. That's an Apple thing, not some failure on the part of FileMaker.
3. Waiting for compatibility fix. FileMaker is not, by far, the worst at getting a compatibility fixes in place. It would be nice if we had zero-day support. But it's just not that simple. From a professional development and systems admin perspective, the installed technology will always be behind the shipping release by 3, 6, 12 months.
We have to ask ourselves, what is more important, zero-day support? Or continued development of new features. Whether we like it or not, the speed of development isn't going to change. FileMaker has the resources they have. And they put a VERY significant percentage of their revenue directly back into engineering.

Joshua with all due respect you are almost an apologist for FileMaker. Whenever anyone mentions something negative you are one of the first to respond attacking the poster.

I have been in IT for 30 years. Waiting 3 months for a fix to the calculators column is pathetic. An immediate fix should be issued. If this was Microsoft waiting this long then fair enough. FileMaker are part of Apple. What exactly are the huge changes in Mojave that are causing such huge engineering issues that only FileMaker appear to be struggling with?

It's interesting that you viewed that as an attack. That's fine. I can respect that.

It was just information. And it's not just FileMaker struggling with it. It is affect many IT departments.

Owned by Apple and "part" of Apple are two very different things.

Apologies. I was not in a good frame of mind earlier. However I still think the wheels turn too slow at FileMaker. I think they need less upper management and more resources at the coal face.

Just tried to install FM Pro Advanced 17 and 16 on a clean Mojave installation. Both fail. Just says to contact the manufacture.

Any ideas?

We updated our official messaging on support for macOS Mojave.

I updated the original post and the linked knowledge base article has also been updated.

The new messaging is as follows:

FMPA 17.0.2 will not install on a clean install of Mojave.
I did a clean install of Mojave on a 2016 MacBook Pro
The first application I tried to load was FMPA 17.0.2
Got the error
Tried FMPA 16 same error
Re-downloaded FMPA 17.0.2 again tried install- same error
Installed O365 - no problems
Installed adobe- no problems
That is all that is on the machine

I just did a clean install on a brand new Mac Mini. I reformatted the hard disk, installed High Sierra, then upgraded to Mojave. I then installed FMS 17. No problem.

Yes I think it the error is happening on the clean installs directly to Mojave.

Since updating to Mojave, FM17 is pretty much unusable for me!
Almost none of the dialogue boxes are working, they're just blank (see attached screenshots).
I've deleted and re-installed FM. No difference.
Pretty big deal!!!!
Any suggestions?

I just updated to Mojave this week and sorry that I didn't read this whole thread first. I understand that an OS change can mean a lot of work for software companies. I think my real issue is this statement in the first post:
"These known issues are not critical,"

We may all have differing ideas about what is and isn't critical. Lack of operators in the calc dialogue box is for me a big deal as it greatly impacts work flow. Yes, it isn't the worst thing in the world. Looking forward to the coming update.

This is regarding the lack of operator displaying in the calc dialogue box
FWIW, I just tried this on both 17.0.2 and 16.0.5 and it resolved the issue in the cal dialogue box for calc fields and in some other places like the calc box for the message in the custom dialogue box. It doesn't fix it for a script step such as Set Variable. So, the work around is helpful but not a complete fix. THX for posting however.

It's been a while since I set this up: With FIleMaker Server 17, if I want to upgrade my server mac to 10.14.1, do I still need to uninstall/reinstall FileMaker Server to do this? Or can I just upgrade from 10.13 to 10.14 without having to do that additional step (which, IIRC, has always been there before, but FMS 17 is a new beast, so I thought I'd ask...)

It can work ok. But I always lean on the side of protecting the files and server.

Shut down the files.
Shut down FileMaker Server.
Uninstall FileMaker Server.
Clean install of OS.
Reinstall FileMaker Server.
Move schedules and settings back.
Restore files.
Rehost.
