FileMaker Pro has two new optional functions that may cause some confusion regarding their intended usage. The first feature is Open Record/Request to lock a record. The second function is Commit Records/Requests to save the changes made to the records and unlock the record. I describe these functions as optional because the way in which LAN users normally interact with the record will still lock and commit the record. Therefore, you don't need to make any special accommodation to include these functions in your scripts or to create more granular navigation control for LAN usage.
