There are three ways to use quotes in a calculation that result in the output of the quote character. The old method was to use 4 quote characters to generate a single quote ("""" = "). If you notice closely when you accept the calculation FileMaker will convert """" to "/"", which is the current method to create a single quote character. If you want the calculation to ignore the text when it is being evaluated you can use the Quote("text") function, which returns the text surrounded by quotes. If you use a field instead of static text surrounded by quotes it will return the contents of the field showing all the special escaped characters and carriage returns (¶).
