The time has finally arrived... FileMaker Pro 8 has included a drop-down calendar function. That means no more plugins and more importantly, you no longer have to know how to create a date picker calendar for your date fields. In my opinion, creating a calendar is probably the single most difficult task you can undertake with FileMaker. However, the drop-down calendar is still only half of the solution. If you want a calendaring application you will still need to know how to create a fully functional calendar of your own. If you're smart, you'll buy the Calendar Developer Tool and save yourself weeks or months of headaches figuring out the details of a calendar.
