Ever since FileMaker released the tab panel users have been trying to figure out how to handle scripted navigation of multiple-nested tab panels. Once you leave a layout, then want to come back the tab panel reverts back to the default setting. The problem is that you may want to have the user return to the last setting, which is not the default setting. The GetLayoutObjectAttribute function certainly works well with a single tab panel. However, once you start to nest tab panels you're in for a nightmare to try and figure out which tab panels should be open when you navigate back to the layout. Since I've been asked to solve this dilemma by so many people the demo file will demonstrate two methods to solve the problem. The first method, for those that don't have FileMaker Advanced, solves the problem with two scripts. The second method uses a custom function and 2 very short scripts.
