Every developer has encountered this problem at one time or another. User's copy/paste text from the Internet or from a Word document and the font, size, color, etc. is not the same as your solution. As a result, the appearance of the data from record to record is really messy. Of course, the worst case scenario is that you have some type of report or mail merge where the formatting affects the appearance. So the question is, how can you force the users to always use the standard formatting for the field? The answer is surprisingly simple. Use the Auto Enter Calculated Value for the field with the following formula. Make sure you also uncheck the box for do not replace existing value of the field so the calculation runs every time the field is modified.
