Users are frequently confused by FileMaker's progress icon and coffee cup when long scripts are running. So much so that they may force-quit the database and cause data integrity problems. In previous versions of FileMaker it was cumbersome to build a progress indicator in the middle of your script to let the user know how long a script was going to run. With the use of the data viewer in FileMaker 9 you can make a dynamic progress indicator that matches a modern operating system's user interface and does not require any complicated overhead.
