Creating a great user experience as a developer is key to preventing data entry hostility by your users. In many cases there are far more fields in a table than can be adequately displayed on a single layout. Therefore you are forced into using either separate layouts or tabs to logically separate your fields. For example, in the real estate world you use the same table for both buyer's agent and seller's agent commissions. However, the data entry for both types of records is quite a bit different. Rather than creating two separate tables, which is hard to track and report efficiently, you can manage both types of records using either separate layouts or tabs. With the new onRecordLoad and onFieldExit triggers this can be handled quite easily by FileMaker Pro 10 without the need for a plugin or special navigation buttons and scripts.
