Session Description

Insert From URL has a somewhat mundane name with a seemingly simple purpose. However, it does a lot more than just “Insert.”  You can do RESTful transactions like GET and POST. The term URL makes us think that we’re inserting data just from the web (pretty cool), but you can point this powerful tool at local files, even ones you’ve just imported, and grab their contents and use the power of FileMaker to slice and dice that data all sorts of ways. This session will look at many demos and explore all the different ways developers are using this uniquely powerful script step.

What you should know

Some experience with file paths and URLs will be helpful, but the idea is to give an introduction to what this powerful tool can do.
