FileMaker Community Interface Changes

Version 11

This week we made some changes to the FileMaker Community interface. Here are some of the most important.

    Simplified home page

To help with loading speed, the home page no longer displays company news items, recent discussions, or featured resources.

    Navigation Bar

The Navigation Bar now includes more options, including "News"  (which used to be called "Activity"), and "Community".

    Where is "My Places"?

This is now called "Your Places" and is accessible from the avatar menu (see below).

    Avatar Menu Options

Your avatar dropdown menu now has two new options: "Your Content" and "Your Places"  (which used to be called "My Places").

    Status Updates

You can make status updates by choosing "Status Update" from the dropdown menu associated with the pencil icon on the navigation bar.

    News Streams

You can set up News streams to track places, people, or tags. An "FMI News" stream has been created for you to provide English company news. If you'd like Japanese or German news, follow these instructions:  Adding a News stream

    Inbox Access

Your Inbox message count now appears in the navigation bar with an "@" sign. This is now the only way to access your Inbox (as opposed to "Inbox & Activity").

    Global Search

The global search appears as a magnifying glass and opens a popup window. Results are shown in multiple columns to make them easier to scan.
