Thought I'd give the "Upload a File" button a try.
I've made a little demo for whoever might find it useful.
The process is that I'm creating events in FileMaker that I want to push to OSX Calendar.
It's done using AppleScript.
I'd also like to be able to easily show the event in Calendar in order to get an overview of what might be going on on this particular date.
What I've found is that searching for a specific event in the Calendar can result in a beachball spinning for 30 seconds, depending on how many events there are. The more events, the slower it gets.
Then I've stumbled upon a solution on the web.
You can query the Calendar data directly via the SQL Lite engine where the data is actually stored.
This proves to be a massive speed increase in finding and showing the event.
Runs usually in around 300 milliseconds.
Technically you could use the method for INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE but this can create problems with Calendar sync and refresh.
More info is in the file. It will ask you to select the Calendar for the event.
Enjoy and if you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to chime in.
