Records sort by creation date. Oldest first, newest last. Sorting any other way over a network is slow.
I almost always need the opposite: newest first, oldest last. I'd like a way to permanently store records newest first, oldest last.
First thought is a relationship that contains a sort. I don't know if it is maintained or will happen each time you open the related file. Although I have not tested it you might be able to create a small script that does the sort and then a second script to ask that the script be accomplished on the server.
Believe me, I've tried the work-arounds:
I think a better solution than permanent sorting is New sort option: [X] Reverse order
A saved sort order could often help. Always sorting a list view with many records in a different order than oldest first is very slow, too slow. The opposite - newest first - is often, what you want.
