can we just skip the initial/old Set Variable dialogue
This request can be extended to a lot of other areas beside Set Variable...
Two enthusiastic thumbs up (with apologies to the late Siskel and Ebert)!
I commented elsewhere that:
"The one that trips me up a dozen times a day—no, make that 3 dozen!—is that if you hit Return [in the Set Variable dialog] for a new line in your calc, it instead attempts to commit your calc and exit the dialog. (If the calc is not valid, it does at that point open a full on calc editing window, with the entire calc selected [and an alert dialog that now has to be dismissed . . . arggh!].)"
Glad to see this made a separate feature request, and happy to give it my unequivocal endorsement!
This would save a lot of time. Good idea!
Idem (equal) -> Set Field
Please please please please.
Add to that a list of existing variables (already defined in the file), so that:
p.s. there may be other ideas on variable usage, this new dialog just would be really great.
