Currently, with the function ExecuteSQL you are allowed to execute SELECT queries only. I like to have access to UPDATE, INSERT and DELETE queries as well.
I heard somewhere that FileMaker does not like to introduce data modifying behavior to FileMaker functions. I do not understand, why FileMaker thinks this way, since plugin functions can modify field values and even create tables (e. g. sql qlugins). But if FM does not want to increase the commands available for the function ExecuteSQL, could they please introduce a new script step ExecuteSQL that allows data modifying sql commands. And than rename the already existing script step Execute SQL into Execute SQL with ODBC or something similar.
