I think the whole idea of WebDirect: bringing the FileMaker desktop experience to the web is wrong. WebDirect should give the user a "WebApp" experience, not a FileMaker experience.
I've created a few solutions with WebDirect and on one hand our customers are amazed about how fast is to make changes in the solution and the automatic update (this is part of the FileMaker experience) and on the other hand the perceive the solution as "flat" and "clunky".
Navigate on a website made with Bootstrap and you'll see what I'm talking about when I say "smoothness". In a WebDirect solution there are no transitions, no animations. It doesn't feel like a modern web app. Though it can be very functional, it doesn't look and feel like another web app.
It would be great to have that.
