In an effort to make WebDirect seamless from Pro/Advanced, add support for custom menu sets in WebDirect as well.
Good idea mikebeargie . You should vote for it yourself also
Thanks, this was in response to a community post.
To me, this is hugely important. Our FMP solution relies on heavily on custom menu; not having them in WD is a major problem in supporting WD for our customers..
JoelStoner - an acceptable alternative for us has been creating our own menu sets using the top navigation button bars with popover buttons and submenu button bars to emulate drop down menus. Since we already make most of our layouts specific for webdirect it was a natural transition.
Not saying that this isn't still a good idea, but just letting you know there are acceptable alternatives.
Yeah we've always had a 'Function Bar' for basic record functions for our mouse/button oriented users, but we haven't included some of the lesser-used menu functions, like "Delete Found Records...", "Unsort", "Replace...", and "Enter Layout Mode", which we grant our admin users access to to make print layout changes. Removing ALL those menu options (and therefore important/basic keyboard commands too!) from our FMP power users for the sake of a potential WD access is 'cutting off the nose to spite the face'....
This is more of a need than a want. If I can't trust my WebDirect users to be locked down in the same manner as my Pro users, there's a security issue.
