How about the possibility to not only change related fields, but also tables instead of having to delete a relation and set a new one?
You can already handle that with Security
Can you explain? I don't immediately see how this is related changing the table occurrence dropdown in the relationship graph.
argasoft - be sure to vote for your own idea.
I guess @argasoft means that you should need be able to pick another table under "Table" left and right - the part that's currently greyed out. I think that could be sort of nice, even if not exactly a huge time-saver.
Yes, David, that's what I mean. It's perhaps not a huge time-saver but it seems to me practical.
Sorry, my reply was to johanhedman.
The idea itself I get.
very interesting! remember that the connecting lines are what we draw that sets up the links between tables (table occurrences or table alias'). Changing the tables in this dialog would be cool IF:
I would first like to change name so that it actually says for what table I want the relationship to go to. Then I can change table. I do not see this as a enhancement to the FileMaker product, more a way to create more problems in a database. Take for example this: I have a TO that is called products_ARTICLE and then I in change it to go to EMPLOYEE table instead. All errors that comes out of that
johanhedman - I agree that it would be a lot better if one could change the names of the table occurrences in the same dialogue.
