Im sure you guys know that filemaker use is very low in india.
It would be good if you can launch a low priced version for indian market. Atleast for 5 years.
It will help you capture the market.
You are asking for a special deal for India. What if almost all countries in Africa, South America wanted the same thing?
All other software cost the same all over the world, I do not want FileMaker to make certain deals in certain areas of the world.
Doesn't FileMaker run a promotion currently to get 25% off, when you switch from Access?
Go and get it!
Need based pricing.. Yea that will work.
How low of a price do you want?
filemaker is not popular in india due to lack of marketing focus and higher pricing.
20-30% lower prices will help.
i understand it will take time for filemaker to think of india as a potential market. Apple started looking at asia very late too.
Since India can use English as language it is already a potential market. How much less price to you pay for Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Office?
They don't have a differential pricing. That's the reason Software piracy is high in India.
You get a coffee for 2-3 dollars in Usa , but you get it for 20-50 cents here. Economy is different. You need to think different for different markets .
And now apple has started lowering iPhone prices in India to capture market and they are succeeding. Why not replicate the same with Filemaker.
Get your point there, but how would you say a FileMaker license should cost in India?
I don't even see a greedy-Brad "localisation Tax" for India.
Still terrible miscalculation in Swiss Filemaker Store!
Same pricing as in the home market USA is probably best that FMI can do in India.
Globalisation means you couldn't block anybody in the world of purchasing subsidised FMP Licenses in India.
I am in India and I am using FileMake for 4.5 years. The problem is not the cost, the problem is lack of understanding of the value of the FileMaker.
Then you should use the new commercial with Workspace Innovation Platform
Thanks Johan that’s a great idea !
