There are an increasing number of websites (e.g. Salesforce) that no longer support Internet Explorer. We need to be able to use Chrome or Edge as the underlying Web Browser used by the Web Viewer.
I would recommend to send this in as a Bug Report. AFAIK, FM WebViewer depends on the Webkit of the OS (IE for PC, Safari Webkit for Mac).
There's a chance that the cause of your issue lies in the Interface (FM Web API?) between FM WV AND OS' Webkit.
Think about consequences. Adding Chromium to FMP would add another 100 MB to the installation size...
And FMI would have the burden to keep it up to date with each update.

MapBox, a powerfull solution and alternative to GoogleMaps doesn't Work with IE 11 (Windows 10).
Like User and Developer, I'd like to change the browser for one better (Google Chrome or Safari)
In my opinion, FileMaker needs to add a Chromium WebViewer to FileMaker for Windows to get parity with FileMaker Mac. Internet Explorer Webviewer is just a pain, it is old, it does not work correctly with ES6, it is a disaster with WebGL and many other new technologies, etc.
Microsoft is moving away from Internet Explorer and it has declared it just a compatibility tool for old technology.

It seems also, they cannot update the system web viewer to Edge for security reasons.
As stated here, it could be easier that FileMaker incorporates its own Chromium web browser component just like every Electron application does. At least on the Windows version since on Mac, the Safari web viewer component is well updated and maintained.
