InstallOnTimer Script Trigger Help
Can i sent the InstallOnTimer Script Trigger to run a script every time the computer's clock strikes 00 seconds?
No. The InstallOnTimer starts as soon as you start the InstallOnTimer. You set the interval for the script to run. For example an interval of 600 is about 10 minutes from the time you start the installOnTimer then it runs every 10 minutes until you halt the InstallOnTimer.
So theres no way at all? not even if i say 60 seconds after the seconds strike zero? or a mathmatical equation that takes the seconds and subtract or something by 60 to get it to run every min on the min? just trying to think outside the box.
Anything is possible. I will not say there is no way. You might could come up with a way after you start the timer then you would have to check the seconds (set to a variable), but you would have to check every second to be exact, which wouldn't be that efficacy.
well what i am trying to create is a field that i can put in the footer which shows the current time. prety much a big clock. right now it works with having the script timer run a script every second to get current time. but that doesnt seem efficient. it works fine on my computer but im worried it will clog things up and crash or something. any ideas?
do you think i could possibly have the timer script run every second until the secons hit 0 then it will hault that on timer and run another one which runs every 60 seconds? how would i do that?
You don't need InstallOnTimer for a clock. You can use a web viewer to display a clock. I have a sample app that uses a web viewer to display the current time. You can change color and the size of the clock.
AH! THIS IS AWESOME! is there a way to change the font and font color and have there be no background fill to make it match my document?
Yes the font color and background color can be changed in the html code. I had to do an update to the sample app so you can change the font color of the color. Just download the sample again.
Double click the web viewer, then next to the web address click specify. At the bottom of the html code you will see body style. The font color and background color are in rgb format. Color is the font color. Color was added to the update.
im still having some trouble. i was hoping you could help me out.
i want the text to be rgb (242,242,242) and size: 12 and font: Tahoma
the background should be clear but if that can be done the color behind it is rgb (117,117,117)
the web viewer should have no line and no fill
also there is a white boarder that i would like to get rid of so all you can see is the time and nothing around it.
Sorry. It has been a while since I looked at this sample. I posted incorrectly at first and didn't know I posted. I fixed the above post. Again down load the update app and then set color to your font color.
I added your setting to a new sample app. You can download another update with clock with your above settings. I created two clocks with the color you specified above and one of the clocks I remove the line from around the clock.
hi! sorry to bother you but i got your new web viewer and everything is great except the font doesnt seem to be listening. it says its the correct font but in browse mode it isnt. also i would like the text size to be 18 and in bold. sorry to keep bugging you.
I updated the sample app it just has two clocks. The html code had an error in the code that set the font.
The sample was done several months ago and I didn't notice the error in the html code because the clock worked.
AWESOME! works great! thanks so much!
