November DIGFM Meeting

New FileMaker Cloud Admin API

The new FileMaker Cloud Admin API allows us to automate many actions that were previously only available in the web based admin console. Use the API to check on connected clients, pause databases, and even perform some functions that are only possible from the API in FileMaker Cloud, such as creating and running script schedules. We'll demonstrate all 18 of the API functions on a live server. When done, you should be ready to start automating some actions on your own server.

About the Speaker

Having worked with computers since the days of the Apple, CPM, and cassette file storage, Simon Brown has seen technology come and go. But ever since FileMaker was first released in 1985, he knew that one of his second homes would be working with FileMaker, and he has been using it nearly continuously since.

Simon is a recognized expert with FileMaker Server and FileMaker Cloud, often sharing new tools and techniques for optimization, monitoring and administration via the Beezwax blog. He is also chief architect of bBox plug-in.

In addition to his FileMaker work, Simon has had significant experience with server administration, DevOps, security, networking, and development with tools as diverse as JavaScript, Swift, Objective-C, AppleScript, Unix shell, Perl, PHP and Python.

No need to RSVP to join the online version of the meeting, but thank you for letting us know here that you might attend that way. I will continue to post updates here about the meeting, even as it is starting. If FMI's GoToMeeting ever starts getting close to be overloaded, there would be a separate RSVP for meeting online.

Following on this forum, is a method of getting the feed in your inbox or other streams, if so desired.

"joining", might imply being a member of the User Group (here or at the UG website).

While @DIGFM is a "group-type" of space here, it's a public group (membership may not be required). It appears the only "members" are also the three "owners" of the group.

I welcome this type of space on this forum. We have been needing a place for the UGs to post great content, such as we get from DIGFM! It has a long history (ask me sometime!)
