Filemake ODBC

Question asked by ChuckBeaudette on Oct 5, 2010

Filemake ODBC

I am attempting to do ADO connections to Query Filemaker databases using MS Excel, using the standard FileMaker Pro dirver ( provided with Filemaker.

The problem I have run into, is that it seems the driver does not support field names that have spaces (e.g. Unit Price). I have tried all standard conventions (double quotes, single quotes, square brackets, %20 to replace space, etc.) and have read through the documentation, but I can find no workaround.

I cannot change the field names, because the DB is a third party developed management system and the developer has dissapeared.

Is there a work around for this or another driver that might work with FM databases.
