FileMaker 11 for Mac Window Automatically goes to Full Screen
Does anyone know how I can stop my FileMaker Window from going full screen when I change templates?
Is there a script trigger being tripped that is maximizing the window?
Hey Phil, Thanks for the response, but not sure if there is a trigger script or not, not familiar with how the scripts work. Where should;d I look or how can I check to see if that is happening. Do I go to the Layout Mode to check this out?
The most likely culprit wasn't called a "script trigger" in FileMaker 11, thought that's what it really is.
In each template file where you get this behavior, check File Options--where you may find that a script has been designated to run automatically each time that the file is opened.
If you find a script specified there and it may contain a step that maximizes the window.
Hey Phil, I checked the File Option in that template and turned off the Perform Script, hit OK, then went back to another template, manually resized the window, went back to the other template and it went full screen again.
I wouldn't just turn off that option as it may be doing a number of useful things other than possibly resizing the window. It would be better to open the script in Manage | Scripts and edit the script to remove or disable the step (if it exists) that resizes the window.
Are these files local to your machine or hosted?
Are you creating a new copy each time from using the "new from starter solution" option or opening a file thus created previously?
a given local file seems to "remember" the window size last used for that file so you may need to open the file, resize the window to the desired size and then close it.
It's also possible that OnLayoutEnter on a layout might run a script that maxes the window...
This Database is Hosted by 888.net but I am the administrator so I can change the layouts etc. Here is what I have in the Script File
When the file is hosted, you won't be able to resize the window and have the change "stick" the next time that you open the hosted file. You'd have to download the file, resize it and then put it back up on the server. And this is only if a script is not resizing the window on you.
Thanks Phil, Appreceate your time and advise about this issue. I will try this this weekend after all are off of the Server. Thanks again and I will let you know how it works. Ron
