Filemaker 11 slower than FileMaker 9 when dealing with large databases (Windows XP)
I am investigating and testing deployment of FileMaker 11 from FileMaker 9 into core business functions within my company.
Basically, as part of a once monthly process, we run several procedures on an offline FileMaker environment. These procedures (we call them modules, but are basically scripts running specific functions) involves intensive calculations over large datasets (1-4 million plus). What I am finding is that on the exact same machines these modules are taking longer with FileMaker 11 than FileMaker 9. For example: one module takes 16 hours to run on FileMaker 9, but takes 22 hours on FileMaker 11.
Here's the system details:
Windows XP, running on SSD.
FileMaker cache is set to 256mb.
All data is non-server, so processing is local machine specific only.
FM11 is updated to the latest version.
FM11 appears to be consistently slow than FileMaker 9 running all these modules.
Does anyone else have any anecdotal or confirmed evidence that FM11 is slower than FM9 when dealing with large datasets?
