    FileMaker 9 Quits on Startup

      FileMaker 9 Quits on Startup

I have an iMac running OS 10.5 with FileMaker 9 installed with all available updates.  When the user tries to open FileMaker, the startup screen flashes, then nothing.  FileMaker wont startup no matter what is used - using the icon in the FileMaker folder, icon on the Dock, etc.  I tried deleting preferences, emptying trash, and restarting the Mac, that didn't work - I went as far as to uninstall and reinstall FileMaker, so the version of FileMaker right now is 9, with no updates.

      Anyone have any thoughts?

No one else in the office is having this problem.  We are all running the same version of OS and FileMaker.

          Thank you for your post.

Let's assume FileMaker Pro 9 is corrupt.  Uninstall FileMaker Pro 9, and try installing it on another similar computer.  If it doesn't work on the second computer, then you have a bad CD, and another CD can be shipped to you.  If FileMaker Pro 9 works on the second computer, then I would reinstall the OS, and then reinstall FileMaker Pro 9.
