Well ive been working with filemaker 10 and recently upgraded to 11 and im running on machines from different brands and running different OS. These range from win XP Home and Pro, Win Vista Home, and Win7 Home and Pro and also a mac OSX 10.5.
None of these problems have ever occured, so if i had to guess id say check your virus protection.
I've got 10 and 11 running on an XP platform here and have had no such issues.
I suggest the usual detective work.
Do the problems only occur when using one file?
Do the problems only occur with one version?
and so forth...
The problems seem to be computer centric. The problems occur with all files on Filemaker--usually when running scripts--even one's as simple as Open related record in new window. I've done database checks to make sure it's not that, but I have never had database corruption. I've had problems in both FileMaker 10 and 11.
I threw this question out, because my problems seem to have occured right after Microsoft automatic updates have been pushed to my computers (especially the one that occurred Tuesday, April 13, 2010. I've had to rebuild 3 computers since then. Once I rebuild, they seem fine. I'm wondering if the updates are breaking FIlemaker, and if this is happening to anyone else.
What version of windows are you seeing these issues on ?
I've had no problems with Filemaker 10 or 11 under Windows Vista.
Windows 7 is a different story, but the problems are not the same as you list the only crashing I get is when editing / scrolling long scripts.
Both versions of windows have all updates applied.
