FileMaker Mobile 8 and FM Pro 8.5.2 on a Mac OS 10.5.5

      Post

      Can anyone help?

I was running a Mac OS 10.4 with FM 8.5 and FM mobile 8 and a palm Treo 680. I upgraded the OS to 10.5 without any problems. Unfortunately that computer was stolen. I am now running a Mac OS 10.5.5 with the same Filemaker 8.5.2 and fileMaker Mobile 8. Unfortunately the FM Mobile plugin does not appear in the FM 8 preferences and so I am unable to synchronize my database.

I have reloaded the FM Mobile after the FM Pro without effect. I know this is old software, but it worked well on my old computer.

      Does anyone have any ideas?

      Thanks

I am sure you know that Filemaker Mobile was discontinued last Dec, on the 19th.

          This is FM's discontinuance FAQ

          http://www.filemaker.com/support/fmm_eol_faq.html

It is always possible to update an operating system past compatiblity with an older application.

Some of the common OSX new version problem troubleshooting tips are

Download the Combo OSX upgrade from Apple

Do your monthly maintenance (I prefer Applejack)

Reboot in Safe Mode (shift key down)

          Apply the Combo Update.

          Reboot and test.

If no joy, create a New User called whatever (Test?) with admin rights.

Logout and login as New User and test.

(this diagnoses a system problem as compared to a user problem)

          Good Luck.
