Filemaker Pro 9 (FMP9) activation system "waiting for response" - phone for new licence key
Migrated FMP9 to new computer, all other apps OK by clone, but not FMP9 with complex registration system.
Reinstalled from CD. Deactivated copy on old computer (though only got one copy installed). Still hangs, or says "no internet connection", or says "too many copies activated" inconsistently.
Tried to find how to repair licence activation key, but no info. Tried deleting ~/Library/Preferences/Filemaker Preferences, didn't help.
Thread here on activation error General activation error 50018 points to support answer http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6794 that says phone tech support.
Phoned tech support (at least there was no phone queue) - turns out the internet activation system is no longer used with FMP9. Would be nice if FMP9 error said that or else that information was available somewhere online.
So tech support will send a new licence key that does not require online activation system at all.
