Can your users edit records and see the changes were retained when you re-open?
Do you get any warning messages that the file is opening as "Read only" when the file first opens?
What operating system are you using?
The file opens without incident when the icon is double-clicked. No errors or dialog boxes of any kind. I'm running this on 10.6.8 and also the Lion GM for testing.
The users can edit records and the changes are retained when the app is quit and relaunched. The "Records" menu is almost completely greyed out.
Change the available menu commands from minimum to one that include delete records in the records menu. (Bottom right corner of the above dialog box.)
If you remove a menu command from the menus, both that command and the keyboard shortcut no longer work. I think you can still put a button on your layout to run a delete record script--I'm not sure my memory is accurate so test this--if you don't want to include those other menu options.
Setting the available menu commands to "All" definitely fixes the issue. I did have buttons in my app for removal of records, and those did still work (I had not checked until now). But it's nice to have the meus, as I think people expect any functionality in an app to be available in the menus.
Looks like this did the trick, thanks!
