Filemaker>PDF with fields
Is it possible to export a Filemaker form to PDF file so that the fields can be filled in on the PDF form?
That specific functionality does not exist in FileMaker Pro, however there may be a plug-in that makes this possible. You will want to check the following link to see if any plug-ins exist that could do what you are looking for: link
This may do the trick:
I checked out that Plug-in, but it isn't really what I am looking for. What would be best is to have the fields be retained in the saved PDF so that anyone would be able to fill them without Filemaker.
There is little use to create a form in Filemaker then have to redo the PDF file to add fields there. If I were to do that, then I might just as well create the form in Acrobat in the first place. Since I create all my forms in Filemaker, having to get Acrobat Pro and learn that application would not be effective.
I hesitate to add this since it takes some expertise in XML and XSLT.
You can export an XML file from FileMaker and automatically convert it to PDF format during the export process but you must write an XSLT document that translates it from FMPXMLRESULT format.
