      find/replace a blank record with a text character

      Post

      I am trying to perform a find/replace to find all blank records in a field and replace them with a text character. When I do a find and enter "=" in the search field, it finds all 12 relevant records, but when I perform the fin/replace it says there are 0 occurances found. How can I do this?

          The easier way would be to use the  replace field contents menu item/script step. Use the last radio button that says "Replace with calculated result:" and use some calculation like this:

          If(YourTable::YourField = ""; "YourSymbol"; YourTable::YourField)

          What this does is put the symbol ONLY is the field is empty, otherwise, it leaves it with its current content.

          Then click ok. With this, you wouldn't even have to do a find.
