Thank you for your post.
The list of filenames under Open Recent are stored in the FileMaker Pro prefs file. Since you are using Mac OS X 10.5.x, that file is located in the following directory:
Home -> Library -> Preferences -> FileMaker Preferences -> FileMaker Pro xxx Prefs
Although this file is not a text file, you can open it with a text editor, and you should be able to find the file and see the file path.
The path is clear in the file Prefs... Unfortunately, the file is not there. Probably, the pendrive with the file was unpluged wrongly and the file disapeared. i was looking the file with some recovery software but they did not work. I have found more than 200 .fm7 files (some of them very valuable) but not the required in this case.
6 hours of work lost.
Many thanks, again.
I think every developer, including myself, has experienced that one.
Moral of the story, make lots of back up copies and store your files on more than one machine.
Since you are using Mac OS X 10.5.x...
On Windows, the preferences are stored under the registry. That would be:
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro\10.0\Recent Files
A Knowledge Base article (6121) covers quite a bit of this for both Mac and Windows. Please see:
For those who have Windows machines, please read the Warning at the bottom of the article.
