This works on FMP 10 with United States system settings. It'll probably work for your version as well:
Enter find mode and type in:
to find all records from May 1, 2008 to February 2, 2009
Think you misunderstood
The find criteria is entered by the user in an input screen......
In find mode to perform a find?
If so, then what I describe will work for you.
In a global field so a script can perform the find?
Then I'd use two date fields formatted to only display the month and year with a set field instruction like this:
Enter find mode
Set Field [yourtable::yourdatefield; Month(yourtable::gDate1field) & "/" & Year(gDate1field) & "..." & Month(yourtable::gDate2field) & "/" & Year(gDate2field)]
The concept is essentially the same either way.
That looks better. Yes, sorry, I forgot to include the fact that I was using global fields for the users input.
The user just sees a screen with input fields that are drop down lists:
Enter start month ______ start year ______ End Month _______ End Year ______
I will give this a try.
Thank you very much.
