Define a self join relationship such as:
Yourtable::anyfield X YourTable 2::anyfield
Put a one row portal to Yourtable 2 on your layout with the name field in this portal row. (or include more rows to show a "top 10" or such...)
Sort the portal by score in descending order.
The table in my database is being shown through a portal. Currently, I have a field that populates with the highest value from the portal. That field is not part of the portal table.
For the layout, I want to be able to add new data and see who has the highest score. The cross join nullifies the ability to add new records. Is there another way to solve this?
There are any number of ways.For one, the relationship used to display the highest scoring individual need not be the same relaitonship used for your portal. You can use separate table occurrences to keep the relationships separate.
Please describe your current layout and the relationship you have set up for your portal.
Yep, that worked. Keep forgetting about other table occurances.
