FMP 13 - Can multiple users work on a file at same time?

      Post

We have two users on FMP 11.  A FM project file is stored in Dropbox.  The two users can't work on the file at the same time without creating conflicts.  I heard that FMP 13 might address this.  Is this the case?

There is no change. Drop box is not a viable way to share a database system.

But both FileMaker 11, 12 and 13 can all host a database  such that a limited number of users can access the database at the same time.

With FileMaker 11 or 12, you can open the file on the host computer with FileMaker Pro and use FileMaker Pro to access the hosted database. FileMaker Pro can host a database for up to 9 other users.

WIth FileMaker 13, this number drops to 4 other users as FileMaker changed its policies with this version.

With all of these versions, FileMaker Server can host the database to enable simultaneous access by much larger numbers of users.
