      Post

      I every one,

My name is Joao and i'm a new in Filemaker Pro.

I m starting a inventory database for different kinds of objects.

I need some help to create a folder in the layout form where i can drop or copy unlimited different kinds of files (jpeg; raw; tiff; pdf; doc; mov; mpeg; avi; etc.. ) - similar how Bento works. This files are important to be attached to each inventory file

Any one could help me please?

      Thanks

      Joao

No such folder exists in FileMaker, but you can set up a related table of records where you insert a file into a container field of a different related record for each file. You can use a portal to this table to access the inserted files.

Look up "portal" in FileMaker help.

Look up "Container" in FileMaker help.

If you still can't get this working, feel free to post a follow up message.

              Hi Hello Again

It seems that I'm not reaching what I need:

1 - The Container field only supports one file

2 - I can't open that only file from the browse mode

The idea is to visualize a list of files associated to one record, and open them just by clicking over the file name.

It was also important to preview more than one image of that record on the same field window.

is all this possible on File Maker Pro? its very intuitive and simple on Bento..

maybe i just don't know how to use File Maker Pro properly, how can i learn to "build" those functions?

              thanks
