Forcing Summary Field to show a value
I have a summary field for total dollars owed in the header of a table containing invoices. Works perfect except that when I add a new invoice the field goes blank. If I click on the summary field then the correct number shows up and stays until a new item is added then it goes blank again. Tried doing a script that would go to the summary field after adding a new invoice record and performing a commit but that didn't do anything.
The summary field will not update to show the new total until the newly added or newly edited field is committed. Clicking on the field in the header just so happens to commit the record. If your script does a commit records--say on an OnObjectExit or OnObjectSave trigger on your number field, you should see the total in the summary field update to show the new total.
