You'll need to write your own calculation to format the date to your specifications:
Let ( [ D = School_Info::Shoot_date ; dd = day ( D ) ; mm = Month ( D ) ; yy = Year ( D ) ] ;
Middle ( "JanFebMarAprMayJunJulAugSepOctNovDec" ; mm * 3 - 2 ; 3 ) & ", " & dd & ", " & yy )
Thanks for your answer but where do I put this calculation that you have given?
In place of School_Info::Shoot_date in the calculation that you posted.
Another quetion, If I have a the principal field as FULLName is there a way I could trim it to the first name only?
It can be done, but you can get more consistent results if you do the opposite and store first, last, middle names in separate fields and make FullName a calculation field that combines them.
Here's a calc that may work to extract a first name from your FullName field:
Let ( fn = Trim ( FullName ) ; Left ( fn ; Position ( fn; " " ; Length ( fn ) ; -1 ) - 1 ) )
Trim removes any leading and trailing spaces.
Position, with these parameters is finding the position of the last space character within the FullName character.
Left is returning all text to the left of that character. (by subtracting 1 from the number returned by the position function.)
Thank you...You are Awesome
