Some K.I.S.S. questions:
It looks fine on the screen...Does it look right in Preview Mode?
Are you using "Justified" or "Full" for any of the fields?
Have you selected individual cells in the table and shifted Text alignment (i.e. are all your cells within a column the same alignment)?
Nothing comes immediately to mind, but perhaps we can get it by process of elimination...
Actually I notice that the table values are aligned properly but the Headers are not. For instance if I set "item" to left justified the header for the column ITEM is not left justified. I see nop way to adjust the Header alignment. I now see it on screen as well as print preview. Justification is not selected. All the cells within a column have the same alignment.
I found the same when I mocked it up. I don't use table view much so I've never noticed it before...odd that you can't align the headers...or perhaps you can but I just don't know how.
I think I'll back out of this one since I have so little to offer and let someone else share their experience...sorry.
Can anyone else help me with this?
I can't see a real problem here.
The labels in Table view are always centered ( and that is fine ), but if you want those labels alligned to left simply swich to List view before printing.
I tried list view but for some reason FM does not printout the Header Text in print or print preview even though is is displayed on the screen. Any ideas why?
Also Table View allows sorting by clicking on Collumn headers.
I didn'y say that you have not to use Table view...
I said that, when you want to print ( and only then ), swich to List view ( or create a new layout for printing purpose based on a List view )
The header will be printed if there is an Header part ! Are you sure to have an Header in your Table view ?
( go to Layouts >> Layout setup >> Views >> Properties >> Include header part )
yes I have a Header Part with text in it. The header prints in table view but not in list view or form view. The header does appear on the screen.
The properties dialog box only is available in Table View. There column headers can be set on/off. There does not seem any place where one can turn on/off layout headers.
the header part isn't the part containing the field's names ( in Table View ).
So I think that you haven't an header part in your layout; you have to create that part by:
Layouts >> Part Setup... >> Create >> Header.
Yes, I know. That is what I did from the beginning. I have a Header, body, trailing summary, and a footer. The footer works fine.
I have no other idea.
f you want, you can send me a clone of your file.
For now what I did is recreate the layout from scratch.
If you use FM wizard I can get what you want. I just wish you could change things after creation such as Themes header height and these formating issues.
