               There are several options that can work. Here's one:

               Define at least three fields in your table: ManProduct, Manufacturer, Product. Define all three as text. But add these auto-enter calculations (open field options for the field in Manage | Database | Fields) for the other two:

               Manufacturer:

               Let ( TheList = Substitute ( ManProduct ; "-" ; ¶ ) ;
                        Self = GetValue ( TheList ; 1 )
                      )

               Product:

               Let ( TheList = Substitute ( ManProduct ; "-" ; ¶ ) ;
                        Self = GetValue ( TheList ; 2 )
                      )

               Then, when you import your data, map your excel column to import into ManProduct, but also click the check box that appears in a small dialog just be for the import starts to enable auto-enter options.
