      Getting an Acronym right

      Post

           I am trying to get an acronym calculation right for a company name but can't quite get there. This is what I have at the moment:

           Case (
           WordCount ( Company ) > 2 ; ( Left ( Acronym ( Company ) ; 3 ) ) ;
           WordCount ( Company ) = 2 ; ( Left ( Acronym ( Company ) ; 1 ) &""& Upper ( Left ( MiddleWords (Company;2;1) ; 2 ) ) ) ;
           WordCount ( Company ) = 1 ; ( Upper ( Left ( Company ; 3 ) )
           ) )

           For a company names that is for example: Vehicle and Automotive Service, that would shorten to VaA, but I am wanting to exclude the "a" from the "and" and it includes the 4th word so it reads VAS. How am able to exclude a word like "and" or a word that has lowercase letters?

           Thanks!

               You might want to filter the field "Company" before your calc to remove common unwanted words (a, and, or, the, with) then run the filtered name through your calc.

               You could do this with a Let{} statement up front.

               BTW, what happens when you have three companies:

               Vehicle and Automotive Service

               Vince's Auto Salvage

               Victory over Asperger's Syndrome

               ...just thinking out loud...
