    Go To Layout Button Trouble

      Go To Layout Button Trouble

      Post

      How do i make a button go to a sorted layout? For example, I want to have a button under my Contacts portal in my Company phone list that will go to the sorted individual records for that company in the contacts. So if I click the button on the record in the "My Company" record, it will go to the Contacts table with the three individual contacts from "My Company."

      I tried a filter command, but it didn't work, as I'm new at this...

      This is what I tried:

      Specify--->Go To Record/Request/Page--->By calculation

      Filter ( Contacts::Customer_ID ; Customer_ID)

      Thanks!

          You'll need to find the contacts record on your other layout and sort them in the order you want.

          In a script, you can use two basic steps, Go To Related Record and Sort to get what you want.

          Your button then performs this script.

          In the following link, you can skim a big part of it and focus just on the portions that deal with GTRR from a portal row. (The "bad things may happen warnings" aren't likely to be an issue with the task you describe.)

          Go To Related Records is a very useful tool, but which is very poorly documented. To learn more about GTRR, click the following link:
