Graphic Resolution in saved PDF files

Graphic Resolution in saved PDF files

I am saving records to a pdf for emailing.  The records contain photographs.  Is there a way to use a lower resolution on the graphics so that the pdf file size is reduced?

Which platform, Mac or Windows? On a Mac, if you Print to PDF, instead of using FileMaker's Save As PDF, you will likely get smaller PDFs. This setting can be saved in a FileMaker Print step. There are further optimizations possible, using the built-in Print Services, as well as Automator workflows and AppleScript. But for my purposes Print to PDF seems pretty good (and a heck lot simpler). On Windows one of the PDF printer drives, like CutePDF, might produce smaller PDFs also. But you'd have to print using that driver, then switch back.
