What you have should work. What is keeping it from working for you?
A portal to Class_Student can be set up on the Order layout where you can create records for the current order, but selecting Students from the Student table.
And a conditional value list can limit the students listed to just those employeed by the current customer.
You're right, it is the conditional value list that I am not clear on and need help - thanks!
Create a new table occurrence of Students by selecting it in Manage | Database | Relationships, then clicking the button with two green plus signs. Let's name this new table occurrence (TO) "Employees". Link it to Customer to get this relationship:
Customer::CustomerID = Employees::CustomerID
Keep in mind that Employees and students both contain the same records. We've just created a new "occurrence" so that we can add a different relationship.
Now you can define the value list as listing IDs from Employees, Include only Related values starting from Customers. If you then format Class_Students::StudentID with this value list, you'll have a conditional value list you can use to select Students for a given Order record.
If Conditional Value List is a new concept:

Thank you PhilModJunk, I can't ask for more :) I will try this and let you know!
Great news, it worked - Thank You! I must say with the combination of your links and the "Key Concepts in Filemaker 7" by Michael Harris lead me to a better understanding and got the task to work...
Thank you very much!
