A complicated post
Open a remote FileMaker file with AppleScript
another Thread here http://forums.filemaker.com/posts/a128d17406?commentId=259107#259107
There is a single command that is supposed to work assuming
the database is hosted, open and has a standard name (no special characters)
tell application "FileMaker Pro" getURL "FMP7://Username:firstname.lastname@example.org/FileName.fp7" end tell
========From another Thread=========
The following line of applescript causes FileMaker Pro 12 only to bring up its open remote dialog box, as though there were no argument string to be processed. My database is hosted on the service whose URL appears here. There is no error message:
get remote URL "fmp://shared-hosting-2.filemaker12.com/salescontacts"
I have tried adding account name and password info, and using variations on the syntax from the Applescript dictionary entry for this command, none of which helps. here is what the dictionary provides:
get remote URL v : Opens a hosted FileMaker Pro database
get remote URL
→ text : The URL specification for the opened database in the form "[<][URL:]fmp://[[username[:password]@]host]/filename[>]"
what do I need to do, to get the file opened using the script and no manual intervention? and where can I find the explanation for the syntactical elements '<', and 'URL'?
unfortunately the posts below do not work in this circumstance due to the scripted login with custom dialog box.
my only other thought is to us Automator and apple scripts to accomplish. I would prefer all AppleScript if possible.
The buttons on dialog messages are numerically driven.
The third post on this page may help.
On reflection, I do not think these will answer your question. But the sites may respond to questions. (it may be a FMP12 bug)
