Define a field with global storage.
Add a show custom dialog step just before the Loop step in your script and specify this global field as an input field in the custom dialog.
Within the loop, use a set field step to copy the value from the global field to the field in table_Tasks 2 where you want to add this data from the global field.
Thanks PhilMod...I must be doing the copy portion incorrectly...as I'm just getting a zero or blank value in the field...this is how i have it set up...is there a need for the '$$' symbol somewhere on the global field?
I don't see any Show Custom Dialog step in your script.
Open Manage | Database | fields
Define a new feild.
Click Options for it and select global storage on the storage tab.
This field can be defined in any table in your file.
Use this new field as an Input field in the Show Custom dialog step.
I figured it out. I mistakenly had a calculation in the Set Field on that portion. Got it working. But I have another question...
The Freeze Window isn't working for some reason. When I start the script, it is flashing between layouts, where before when I ran the script it wasn't...wondering what might be causing that? is the freeze window step in the wrong place perhaps?
Freeze Window is in the right place. I see nothing that would cause a screen refresh (There are steps in a script that can, such as new window, pause/resume, and a second Freeze Window--and of course there's a script step called refresh window that will do this.
I have to wonder if there are any script triggers setup here that are record or layout based that might be refreshing the window on you.
OnlayoutEnter, OnLayouteExit and OnRecordLoad could all be tripped by this script and on either of the two layouts.
