Do not know - would you just look? Or would you be changing the database? Poking at something that works, is sometimes not a good idea?
I would have expected it to work, the path pointing to the folder containing the PDFs should be a relative path and not absolute, Maybe someone else knows.
Thanks for your thoughts, I say it's for testing purposes but it will eventually be opening a Local copy on iPads and syncing them back up to FM Server using GoZync or something similar.
It is apparent that the FMP12 Sever is set up with Container field [Storage Option] set to store External Reference [Relative]. FMP12 will automatically change that reference to a new Local....
I wouldn't develop a new version from an iPad.
I know nothing about 3rd party software or their claims, but you are entering a different development world, if you don't have control and a 3rd party does.

Sorry, I had to dash out earlier. Yes it works fine but it's a bit of hassle if I'm being honest:
Log in to the server
Stop the database
Download it to Dropbox (18mb plus the encrypted files)
Open it locally on my Macbook
Save as... (self contained copy grew to 110mb)
Copy new file to Dropbox
Browse to the Dropbox file on the iPad
Download and open it with FM Go
As a self contained file operating locally minus the lag of 3G and/or WiFi, it really flies speed wise including displaying the PDF container files. To do the above on a daily basis would soon wear a bit thin though, must be an easier way...
