(This is not a joke)
Don't click in the portal row.
Only click/tab into fields in the portal row and the portal row should not highlight to show that it is selected.
Thank you. That works on most of my portals but it does not work on one of them. I have to click outside the portal then click on the field inside the portal. It doesn't bother me but I know it will bother the users.
Are you saying that in that one portal, clicking/tabbing into a field causes the portal to highlight? Then you'll need to figure out what is different with that portal.
(Clicking outside of the portal, BTW, commits the record and Commit Records is an available script step you can perform via a script trigger.)
In that portal, when I create a new record, it is highlighted. If I click on a field, the row and all the fields stays highlighted.
As I said, then you will need to determine what is different with that one portal.
Create a new record... in the portal or in the layout's table?
Is this in FileMaker 12?
Are there conditional formats altering the appearance?
no conditional formats
record is created in the portal
All the portals are on a tab on the same layout. I just checked them all (except the one below) and they all do the same thing. In the script there is a trigger which does stuff then returns to the portal row and sets certain fields with data. At some point during the running on that script, the portal loses the highlight, but it is only for a second or two, then it is highlighted again.
This is on all the portals but one. On that one, when I run the script trigger, the highlight goes away Tthat one fills in the correct data but instead of going to the first portal, it jumps to the second one. I have just posted a question about this.
I have fixed the expense portal so that it now works just like the rest. The highlight works the same as the others.
