# How do i do a percent calculation

### Title

How do i do a percent calculation

### Post

I need to take a 5 digit number from a found set ( Ex 003823)( this = 38.23%)  and use that to increase a Memory Variable.

For ex \$CL70 = 23561.

I need to increase that number by the found set number of 003823 or by 38.23 percent.

The easiest way is to * by 1.3823, how can i script that?

A found set is a number of records with a number of fields. Where does 003823 come from? A summary field?

Memory Variable is a ... field? In which record? a global variable?

A find is performed, a found set results, the next steps are?

My point in saying that is, I can't just multiply it by 1.38... my calculation has to be something like

\$cl70 * 1. MyFieldhere

• ###### 3. Re: How do i do a percent calculation

\$cl70 + \$cl70* MyFieldhere/10000

Thanks Phil,

Makes complete sense.
