It is hard to say what is wrong with your db without seeing it. But it should be no problem to disable toolbars and status area on startup via script.
Are you sure your script does run on startup?
Maybe you chose toggle instead of hide?
Did you try working with kiosk mode?
I tried kiosk mode but the menus but the menus and status area are still there.
I am having the same problems.
As for the toolbar, I suspect I will have to create an application toolbar with something simple like FILE/EXIT. That should negate the FM toolbar.
As for getting rid of the Status Area, I too scripted HIDE STATUS AREA only to find that click the button the top right corner of the window brought it back.... grrrrrr... I don't know what the solution is. I haven't read about anyone being able to 'solve' this one... ha
Best of luck.
My experience is that I surely can 'disable' the Status Area but by simply clicking the button in the upper right corner of the window, bring is right back again. I want to lock the user out of the being able to use it. Got any ideas?
Thank you for your post.
When you select "Show/Hide Status Area", select the "Lock" option along with "Hide". This locks the user from accessing the Status Area.

That worked! I had the same problem with hiding the status bar only to have it able to be re-opened when clicking the button on the upper right corner. Locking it in the script worked perfect.
